Yes, it was Monday. Yes, it was musical. Yes, it was mayhem. But no, it wasn't Mani! We took advantage of Mani being on vacation to introduce a new DJ into the Velvet Thorn family and welcomed DJ Mari. She played a blindingly good set which was well received. After all the silliness of Christmas it seemed like a good idea to get a little bit elegant and glamorous, so we had a formal dance for Squish's Saturday night party. Naturally everyone looked magnificent and of course we had a lot of fun. Our ears remained unmolested too, as Squish's microphone is still not working, a source of some distress for a portion of the Velvet Thorn membership, and of great elation for the rest of us!
Nothing gets rid of the excesses of seasonal food and drink quite so well as a good bounce around on the ice, and that is exactly what we did last night. Not only that, but we also bade a fond (okay, okay, some of us were quite enthusiastic) farewell to the whizzy penguins.
